OPS Day Shift Summary

TITLE: 11/18 Day Shift: 1530-0030 UTC (0730-1630 PST), all times posted in UTC
STATE of H1: Wind
INCOMING OPERATOR: Tony
SHIFT SUMMARY:

IFO is DOWN due to ENVIRONMENT

Very rough shift with 0 time spent locked. Today, this was mostly due to 3 reasons.

1. Environment:

2. IMC: The IMC glitch has dominated our locking attempts during lulls in the wind speed. It occured during initial alignment as well as during normal locking multiple times. This occured a few times after we had already locked DRMI under such windy conditions and so getting back to DRMI was either glitchy or windy and only happened twice today. The glitch has happened during all non-windy lock acquisitions.

3. Fast Shutter Error: At 20:01, we were at CHECK_AS_SHUTTERS during a lull in wind speed when we lost lock. After this locklossm the HAM6 SHUTTER status alert went red and guardian warned me not to power up. After calling a couple of people, Keita was able to diagnose the issue as a code threshold error. I went into the fast shutter guardian and changed the threshold of PdBDarkLo from -15 to -40 and PdBDarkHi from 15 to 40. More background and info is available in Keita's comment to my midshift alog 81320. This took 1hr 43 mins to diagnose and solve.

A calibration sweep has not been done yet (since Saturday). If at all we are able to get locked let alone thermalized that, Tony will do it.
