TITLE: 06/01 Day Shift: 1430-2330 UTC (0730-1630 PST), all times posted in UTC
STATE of H1: Planned Engineering
INCOMING OPERATOR: Ibrahim
SHIFT SUMMARY:
After alignment and taking H1 up in ISC LOCK, Syracuse crew arrived and covered various items:
- Addressed issue with OMC PZT voltages.
- Looked at phasing for the new POP X WFS
Guardian Note: ALS_YARM needs a mindful eye, because it was frequently go into a (yellow) STALLED state. To "unstall" it I just reselect the state it is in. Can't recall if this has been happening with other nodes.
LOG:
- 1445-1523 Morning Alignment (Notes alog 84695)
- 1524 1st Lock of the day in the morning (Notes alog 84696)
- 1615 Team Syracuse arrives!
- They took care of the issue with POP X message on DIAG MAIN,
- Started looking at why the OMC isn't locking--due to high voltage power supply. This allowed us to go to DC Readout
- Then stayed at CHECK VIOLINS BEFORE RAMPUP to start various measurements such as
- Looked at phasing for the new POP X WFS
- 1650-1705 Went out to the LVEA to check OMC PZT chassis & power supply (craig, georgia, corey)
- 1907 Lockloss
- 1908 M6.0 Japan EQ notification & EQ Mode at 1923
- 1934 Manual Alignment while the R-Wave passes (eventhough DRMI did have decent flashes up to 100...but it was 10min of no lock). So paused for a bit since the Y-Arm is being its usual difficult self.
- Just a note on Y-Arm locking---even with flashes of 1.0, it was hard for it to stay locked with the EQ rolling through + EQ Mode Activated (X-Arm was fine, aligned and stayed locked the whole time).
- 1953--this is when Manual Alignment started (as SEI ENV returned to CALM [from EARTHQUAKE]). Only other note is that SR2 alignment-by-hand was not needed (as it was this morning).
- 2008 2nd Lock of the day (after EQ & lunch)
- Much more smoother. DRMI locks within 2-minutes.
- And for this lock, Craig/Georgia said we can skip some of the "pauses" noted in this morning's lock (alog 84696)
- I did stop at DRMI LOCKED PREP ASC to try tweaks of PRM+SRM to maximize+flatten POP18, but it didn't really need any adjustment.
- So, Ibrahim took H1 all the way up to 10W with no other pauses (currently, the team is Adjusting Power for a slow power up to 25W while watching ASC).
